Man Utd want to add a striker to their squad in the summer transfer window and here is the latest news.
Manchester United remain in contact over a possible move for Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike in the summer transfer window. Ruben Amorim has requested the addition of a striker to his squad, with the French forward the latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.
It is understood United do have a genuine interest in a potential move for Ekitike this summer, though any deal would rely on player sales to fund it. Frankfurt originally placed a €100 million price tag on the striker but it has been suggested they could cut almost €20m off that figure.
Frankfurt are in a healthy financial situation and insists they do not need to sell the 22-year-old this summer after they finished third in the Bundesliga and secured Champions League qualification. They are only likely to sell Ekitike if a club matches their initial demands or if the player informs them he would like to leave during the current window.

United remain in contact over Ekitike transfer
Speaking in his latest YouTube video, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano issued an update on the future of Hugo Ekitike. He claimed Manchester United remain in contact over a possible move for the Eintracht Frankfurt striker and warned Liverpool could yet challenge them for his signature if they sell Darwin Nunez.
It means the two clubs could end up in a race to fund the move through player sales, as United look to sell Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Antony this summer. They have already completed a £62.5 million deal to sign Matheus Cunha and could spend a similar amount to bring Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo to the club.
"On strikers, I wanted to close today's video by mentioning Hugo Ekitike. Because we still have to keep an eye on the Ekitike story,” he said. “Eintracht asked for €100m to Chelsea a few weeks ago, it was almost two weeks ago, and Chelsea started to explore different options, including Joao Pedro, who remains one of the players they are following, while Newcastle are in talks for the Brazilian.
"So, Chelsea are not intending to pay that money. There is a feeling among English top clubs that maybe in the next days or weeks, Eintracht could accept slightly less than €100m, maybe €80m or €90m, but we will see what they decide to do. Again, don't forget the other clubs. Manchester United called to be informed of the situation of the player, and to be informed of the negotiations with other clubs. Man Utd remain in contact with the agents, but Liverpool also remain in the race. If Darwin Nunez were to leave, keep an eye on Ekitike. He is for sure one of the names they have on the list."
