Arsenal are reportedly among a host of clubs keeping tabs on Noni Madueke at Chelsea. The Gunners are keen to acquire the services of at least one winger this summer, and several options are being assessed.
Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams and Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma are among a host of forwards to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks, and Madueke has now emerged as another option on their shortlist.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal have ‘made check’s on Madueke, though they have also shown an interest in a host of other players and thus it is unclear whether they will make a serious move to raid their London rivals of the winger.
Chelsea do not feel that Madueke is ‘untouchable’ but they have not been actively looking to attract interest in the 23-year-old by offering him to other clubs. However, there is a growing suspicion that the ex-PSV star could be sold this summer.
Arsenal have not yet opened talks with Chelsea over Madueke, nor have they submitted any sort of offer, but they are among several Premier League clubs that are monitoring his situation closely. Newcastle and Tottenham are also cited as being potentially among the England international’s suitors.
Madueke scored 11 goals and registered five assists in all competitions, and his ability to play on the right and left is catching the eye of those in the market for reinforcements on either flank – which, of course, includes the Gunners.
