“Aaron Glenn Effect” Jets Fans Livid After All-Pro Walks Away From Team Just Before Training…

The New York Jets have undergone a franchise-altering off-season. Hiring Aaron Glenn as their new head coach was step one, however, moving on from four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers really put the nail in the coffin.

While New York has been steadfast on starting over, they wound up losing one of their most valued veterans.

The New York Jets defense has officially announced that a longtime member will not return. Aaron Glenn will run his first training camp with the organization in just about one month:

Per Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, linebacker C.J. Mosley announced his intention to retire.

“Five-time All-Pro linebacker CJ Mosley is retiring, he tells @CBSSports,” Zenitz posted on XThursday morning. “The former Ravens and Jets captain posted over 1,000 tackles in 11 NFL seasons. At The University of Alabama, Mosley won the Butkus Award, SEC Defensive Player of the Year and back-to-back national titles.”

The Baltimore Ravens selected Mosley with the No. 17 pick in the 2014 draft. He earned five All-Pro nominations and made the Pro Bowl five times. He appeared in 133 games and started in 132.

During his time in the league, Mosley recorded 1,033 tackles, 53 passes defensed, 12 sacks, 12 interceptions, and ten forced fumbles. Mosley, 33, opted to sit out in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mosley played in just four games for New York in 2024 as he battled neck and toe injuries. The Jets released him in March.
