Everton seen as rivals to club for striker – Friedkins seem to be keen

Everton are one of the sides interested in Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto, who is also being looked at by Atletico Madrid and Roma.

That’s [according to AS](https://as.com/futbol/internacional/el-sustituto-de-correa-esta-en-brasil-yuri-alberto-n/), who cover Atletico’s interest today and state that Everton, and their new sister club Roma, are their ‘rivals’ for the 24-year-old.

They newspaper explains that while Atletico are focused on the Club World Cup, the board are working on signings behind the scenes. They need a replacement for Angel Correa and Alberto is one of the names on their list.

Alberto has been ‘reborn’ at Corinthians after a small, unsuccessful spell in Russia and the first contacts have been held between Atletico and his entourage. It’s a deal that is being kept on a low heat as they don’t see the forward line as a priority for now.

That could change though, as both Everton and Roma have also followed the player’s evolution in Brazil with interest. Atletico are slightly ahead of both, but that could change. Any deal is likely to cost around €20m.

Everton are in need of a striker this summer as Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks set to depart and it seems the Friedkins have one in mind, although if it’s them, Roma or Atletico who move definitively is yet to be seen.
