Ace Bailey demanded promise from Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers are coming off a tough, injury-riddled season that saw them miss the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Yet, sometimes missing the postseason can come with some perks. This time, it delivered the third overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft after the NBA Lottery results were delivered.

With that, the Sixers have a chance to select a special prospect, but there’s always the possibility that the player won’t develop into a star. When you’re picking as high as the 76ers are, you better land a star or even a franchise-changing superstar.

Yet, the 76ers are having some issues getting at least one top prospect, Ace Bailey, to work out for them.

According to Jason Dumas of ESPN, Bailey was hoping to secure a “promise” from the 76ers before he agreed to work out for them. Yet, the 76ers apparently made no such deal, and now a meeting with the 76ers “appears to be unlikely.”

The 76ers reportedly made several attempts to get a face-to-face with Bailey, who’s projected to be a top-five selection. However, it appears they’ll either have to go in a different direction or take a chance on selecting a player that hasn’t been able to answer all their questions thus far.
