Barcelona are reportedly hoping to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club in time for the start of pre-season on July 13.
Personal terms have already been agreed with the Spain star, and Barcelona are now figuring out how to pay his release clause and make room for the forward on the wage bill.
Williams is eager to get the transfer sorted quickly as he does not want to have to head back to the Basque club for pre-season training next month, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The 22-year-old has made it pretty clear he wants to join Barcelona this summer, meaning any return to Athletic would be awkward to say the least.
Barcelona also do not want the potential transfer to turn into a long and drawn-out process and are hoping to get it done quickly.
Joan Laporta has already spoken of his hope of making another exciting signing soon, but there’s still plenty of work to do first.
