Rio Ferdinand has suggested that there is only one obstacle preventing Ruben Amorim from landing one highly rated Manchester United target in the summer transfer window.
Ruben Amorim is waiting for further signings to arrive at Old Trafford ahead of the pre-season campaign and the 2025-26 Premier League season for the Red Devils.
The 40-year-old United manager and his Red Devils squad will embark on their pre-season tour in July and August before the start of the new campaign at Old Trafford.
United’s Premier League fixture list was released on Wednesday and the Red Devils learned that they would host Arsenal at Old Trafford in their Premier League opener.
Amorim is in desperate need to strengthen key positions of his United first-team squad ahead of the Red Devils’ encounter with the Gunners on 17th August.
United already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves earlier this month after the Premier League club activated the Brazilian forward’s £62.5m release clause.

Rio Ferdinand is an admirer of Victor Osimhen and the 46-year-old Manchester United legend has been urging his former side to sign the player this summer.
Victor Osimhen spent last season out on loan at Galatasaray and the 26-year-old Nigerian striker impressed during his spell with the Super Lig champions.
The Nigeria international scored an impressive 37 times and picked up eight assists in 41 matches across all competitions for Galatasaray during the 2024-25 campaign.
Osimhen’s contract with Galatasaray is set to expire on 30th June and the United target, who was linked with Chelsea in 2024, will return to Napoli this summer.
Ferdinand insisted the biggest “problem” around Osimhen is whether or not United choose to make an actual approach for the Nigeria forward this summer.
“No 9, they already know who I want,” he said on Rio Ferdinand Presents.
“The comments know, the people know who I want, who I would go and get: Osimhen!
“It looks like he’s turned down Al-Hilal… he must be waiting for Manchester United.
“I don’t know if Manchester United are going to come. That’s the problem.”

Napoli and Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen remains linked with Man Utd amid Ruben Amorim’s pursuit of a new striker
Ruben Amorim is believed to be keen on adding a new striker to his United squad after the struggles of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund in the 2024-25 season.
United have been linked with several forward options, including Victor Osimhen, Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres and Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic.
Osimhen has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia and the Nigeria international’s current contract with Serie A champions Napoli will expire in 2026.
It is believed that the Galatasaray star has a £62.1m release clause inserted into his deal with Napoli and the Italian club would be willing to sell Osimhen this summer.
