La Liga scoring sensation would be"a fantastic addition at Liverpool"if they can agree deal

**For all the excitement and dreaming going on in reaction to reports suggesting [Liverpool are sensing a window of opportunity to sign Alexander Isak](https://live4liverpool.com/liverpool-believe-a-window-of-opportunity-to-sign-alexander-isak-is-presenting-itself/), there is a lack of noise surrounding Julian Alvarez.**

Really, their situations are not too different. Both have plenty of time on their respective contracts and are the very best in the world at what they do: score goals.

The Alvarez situation is only different because he has only been with Atleti for a single season whereas Isak has been in Newcastle for three years.

But the lack of media talk around Alvarez makes me believe there may be more going on there than is publicly reported. Andy Robertson or even Darwin Nunez moving to Atletico Madrid could create the conditions necessary to facilitate a move for Alvarez.

Of course, this is only speculation but former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes there is a chance for the Reds to make a move for Alvarez this summer.

Liverpool should use Nunez to sign Alvarez if they can

Hamann hopes Liverpool can use Nunez to make a deal happen for Alvarez after contributing 29 goals and seven assists in his first season in La Liga.

Speaking to newspaper Wette.de, Hamann said: _“I’d love to see Julian Alvarez at Liverpool and I think Darwin Nunez being part of the deal would make a lot of sense._

_“I think Nunez is tailor made for Atletico Madrid as a physical centre forward, someone who will work so hard which is what Diego Simeone wants.”_

_He added, “Alvarez would also be a fantastic addition at Liverpool, he played in the shadow of Erling Haaland at Manchester City but really added to his reputation in Madrid. He led the line, scored goals and made life a nuisance for the back lines he played against, I think he would be a brilliant signing._

_“There are whispers about other strikers, but Alvarez would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool and Nunez might just be an even better signing for Atletico.”_

Another similarity between Isak and Alvarez is they are among the most expensive players in world football and whether or not Alvarez has only been with Atleti for a season, it will come down to money.

If Liverpool are truly happy to go out and spend really big on a transfer so soon after committing to £100m plus add-ons for Wirtz.
