Watford are nearing a loan deal for Chelsea and USMNT full-back Caleb Wiley, sources tell GIVEMESPORT. Sky Sports' Luca Bendoni first reported the deal.
Wiley, 20, spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Watford, where he registered one assist in 10 appearances in the EFL Championship. Watford finished 14th in the Championship table.
The Atlanta, Georgia native spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg, where he made just six appearances and tallied one assist. BlueCo, the consortium that owns Chelsea, also own a majority stake in Strasbourg.
Wiley broke through with hometown club Atlanta United in MLS, becoming a key squad player at just 17 years old. The left-back would go on to make 86 appearances in all competitions with Atlanta, scoring six goals and adding seven assists.
He joined Chelsea for £8.5 million ($11.4 million) in July 2024 on a six-year contract.
Wiley has three caps with the USMNT, making his debut against Mexico in April 2023.
