Enzo Maresca says a handful of changes are likely to be made to his Chelsea side against Flamengo, as the Blues head coach has a fully fit squad to select from ahead of our second FIFA Club World Cup clash.
The Blues began the tournament Stateside with a 2-0 victory over Los Angeles FC on Sunday, and we will look to make it two victories from two matches tomorrow afternoon when we face the Brazilian club at Lincoln Financial Field.
Our preparations have been undertaken at the training facilities and stadium of MLS side Philadelphia Union, and it was after this morning's session that Maresca faced the media at his pre-match press conference.
The Italian confirmed the latest team news ahead of the game, with no fitness concerns over the players registered in our Club World Cup squad. Yet in soaring temperatures and with little time between games, Maresca confirmed changes will be made to his starting XI.
He said: ‘No injuries at the moment, but because it’s a tournament and we have a game every three days, we need to rotate players.
'I’m not saying we’re going to rotate ten or eleven players each game, but we will need to rotate three, four or five players each game for sure. This is because we cannot play every three days with the same players.
‘The ones we tried to rotate a little bit in the first game are the ones we have tried to rotate since day one: Romeo (Lavia) and Reece (James). We also gave some minutes off to Moi, who has played the whole season, by bringing on [Dario Essugo](/en/teams/profile/dario-essugo).
‘We will try to continue on that.’
