Manchester United are bracing for a huge summer window as they prepare to go toe-to-toe with European giants for some of the most sought-after talents in world football.
With no Champions League football on offer, United are already finding themselves at a disadvantage in the race for top signings.
They’ve already missed out on Englishman Liam Delap, who chose to join Chelsea instead.
The Red Devils will now be hoping to avoid a repeat in falling short again.

But in the case of Richard Rios, it looks like history could be repeating itself – with Paris Saint-Germain on the verge of sealing a deal for the Colombian star.
Just last year, it became apparent of United’s long-standing interest in the Palmeiras midfielder, dating back to his impressive Copa America displays in 2024.
A £17m bid had been prepared, but Palmeiras’ £85m release clause stance saw talks stall.
United instead turned to Manuel Ugarte from PSG.
Now, according to South American media outlet Antena 2, PSG sporting director Luis Campos is pushing to sign Rios for €30m (£26m), with full backing from manager Luis Enrique.
Rios has impressed since joining Palmeiras in 2023 and dominated midfield in a Club World Cup performance against Porto, catching the eye with his high energy and physical presence.

Campos has been monitoring him since autumn and is eager to finalise the deal before pre-season.
Internal approval has already been secured.
Atletico Madrid and Nottingham Forest are also in the race.
Forest reportedly scouted the 25-year-old earlier this month preparing a bid – but PSG are now leading the chase.
Rios’ camp remains open to options.
Although, the lure of playing alongside the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Marquinhos is said to be pulling him toward Paris.
An internal Palmeiras source told Antena 2 that “the next few hours will be decisive”, hinting that a move could be imminent unless the Brazilian side increase their demands.
United’s lack of Champions League football may again cost them a target.
PSG look set to strike first and secure one of South America’s rising midfield stars.
