Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Chelsea winger Noni Madueke as part of their summer recruitment drive, according toMatt Law of The Telegraph. The Gunners are exploring potential reinforcements in wide areas and have identified the 23-year-old as a player of interest ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The report reveals that Arsenal have conducted background checks on Madueke as part of an extensive search for a versatile winger, although no formal approach has yet been made. Mikel Arteta’s side are understood to admire the England international’s ability to operate on both flanks, a quality seen as key to bolstering their attacking depth.

Madueke, who joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 for £28.5 million, registered 11 goals and four assists across 42 appearances in all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, the winger struggled to lock down a regular starting spot, prompting speculation over his future at Stamford Bridge.

While Chelsea are not actively seeking to sell Madueke, sources suggest the club would be open to “suitable” offers, with an asking price believed to be in the region of €60 million (£50.5 million). Under new head coach Enzo Maresca, Madueke is not considered untouchable, and the club’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and interest in West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus and Brighton’s Joao Pedro may further limit his opportunities.

Arsenal’s interest in Madueke follows earlier pursuits of top-tier wingers, including Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, who is now on the verge of a move to Barcelona and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo. With competition increasing in the transfer market, Madueke represents a promising, homegrown option with valuable Premier League experience.

Former England striker Peter Crouch previously described Madueke as “unplayable on his day”, and Arsenal view him as a player with the potential to thrive under Arteta’s tutelage.

The Gunners are not alone in monitoring Madueke’s situation. Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be tracking the winger’s availability, adding further intrigue to what could develop into a high-profile summer battle.

In a further sign of potential dealings between Arsenal and Chelsea, reports suggest the Gunners are also close to securing goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga as a backup to David Raya, indicating a pragmatic approach to strengthening their squad, even if it means doing business with a domestic rival.
