West Ham could hold off to make a move for Jadon Sancho late in the transfer window.
The 25-year-old is set to be back at Manchester United this summer after Chelsea refused to take up their buy option at the end of the season.
This came after an up-and-down spell at Stamford Bridge, which saw the former England international once again struggle for form.
The Hammers could now benefit from the Blues’ snub to make an approach for Sancho, ready for the upcoming season in East London.

Sancho could join West Ham as Man United talks begin
There is certainly a need for attacking threat in the Irons’ squad as Graham Potter failed to get the best out of his side in E20.

This saw Jarrod Bowen be the only true shining light in attacking areas, while other options struggled to perform across any competition.
As a result, bringing in fresh faces in the forward line could prove to be a wise move, with the former Borussia Dortmund man representing a potentially positive option.
The claret and blue outfit have been linked with a move for Sancho, with former midfielder Martin Allen questioning the financial aspect of the deal.
The ex-Brentford and Leicester City boss believes talks have already begun over a move for the Englishman, as the Hammers will remain patient to complete a deal.
“*I’m sure conversations will have taken place,*” Allen told West Ham Zone.
“His base is something like £300k-a-week, which is huge, then on top of that, there will be a loan fee for the season.
“I’m not actually sure that West Ham could afford that amount.
“However, when it comes closer to the start of the season, Manchester United may have to lower their demands to get Sancho out of the club.
“*He would be a good player for West Ham, for sure, whether that can come around because of finance, I don’t know.*“

West Ham could complete cut-price Sancho deal
It is unclear whether the East London club would sanction a permanent or loan deal for the winger, but there is no doubt he could prove to be an asset.
Although his last four seasons have been largely underwhelming, Sancho did still put in a good shift at Chelsea, particularly in the Conference League.

With more regular minutes in the tank next season, the ex-Manchester City youngster could rediscover his top form from his Bundesliga days.
As direct competition for the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Luis Guilherme, the Man United outcast could prove to be the perfect addition this summer.
