Liverpool will begin the defence of their Premier League title by hosting Bournemouth at the start of next season.
Arne Slot guided his side to the title during his first season in charge at Anfield, becoming just the second manager in the club’s history to win the competition.
The Dutchman will hope to see his side mount a strong defence of their crown, but he will also know that he will likely have to bolster his squad if they are to do so.
Following the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid, the Reds have signed full-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.
Another of Liverpool’s defenders, Joe Gomez, has also been linked with a move away from Merseyside this summer, but it appears that he may be staying put.
According to TBR Football, Liverpool are not intent on selling Gomez but they will also not stand in the player’s way if he decides he does wish to depart the club.

The report claims that the Englishman, who can play at right-back or as a central defender, is happy at Anfield and isn’t currently pushing for a move despite his relative lack of playing time.
The 28-year-old joined the Reds from Football League side Charlton Athletic in 2015 and has since established himself within the first team squad at Anfield.
Gomez has played more than 240 times for the Reds across all competitions, but he has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter over a sustained period of time.
Last term the 15-time England international made just 17 appearances for Slot’s side across all competitions, including just six Premier League starts.
The defender is currently under contract at Liverpool until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.
