**Newcastle United are said to be amongst the fastest growing clubs in football since the PIF-backed takeover, and while we can see how that is true, external forces right now mean it's all for nought for now.**
A report in [iNews](https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-1bn-club-victory-saudi-owners-3758294?ito=link_share_article-top) has boasted about how Newcastle United's impending stadium decision will push Newcastle into the echelons of being a club worth over £1 billion, which is extremely impressive when you consider how the PIF only paid £350 million for the club in 2021. The current reported worth is said to be £817 million.
That really is staggering growth in such a short space of time, and we can only imagine how much further ahead we'd be if PSR and Associated Party Transaction rules weren't in our way.
Not only that, but Newcastle still don't have a stadium sponsor or a sponsor for the training ground or training kit, which has been described as money being left on the table.

Newcastle are reportedly set to kick up their transfer activity next week
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, ensuring Newcastle United have a squad that keeps them hunting at the top of the Premier League is paramount, and on that front, iNews believes that efforts to sign new players will ramp up next week.
Their report states that Newcastle are ahead of Chelsea in the pursuit of João Pedro, although this report came out at 6 am, and since then, the narrative has switched to Chelsea's favour.
Chelsea has the means to offer higher wages, and it's said that João Pedro has always wanted to live in London, so they have that to offer too.
Let's hope for some positive transfer news next week
----------------------------------------------------
Whatever the reality is with João Pedro, we just hope that iNews's claim that Newcastle will be busy next week proves to be true.
As someone who makes a living writing about Newcastle United, the summer transfer window has been a nightmare for the last couple of years, especially at this point in the window, where there aren't even any pre-season friendlies to talk about. I'm relying almost solely on transfer stories, and for my own sanity, there's only so many times I can pull apart transfer rumours about our top players leaving.
So here's to some excitement next week in the form of incoming transfer stories 🍻.
