Much has been made about Travis Kelce's return to the Kansas City Chiefs for the 2025 NFL season. Kelce, 35, was a topic of conversation following the Chiefs' Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, as many thought the future Hall-of-Famer could opt for retirement.

Kelce had a quiet final two games of the 2024 NFL playoffs, catching two passes for 19 yards against the Buffalo Bills and four for 39 yards in the loss to the Eagles.

However, the Chiefs tight end vowed to make a return, and recently addressed that decision with the Kansas City media, stating the decision "wasn't a very tough one," as NFL.com revealed.

"I love football. I don't think I really thought about it that much," Kelce told reporters after Wednesday's minicamp practice. "... I love coming in to work every single day. It wasn't a very tough one for me. I know I'm getting older, but at the same time I still feel like I've got a lot I can prove in this league. With that being said, it really wasn't that hard of a decision for me."

With Kelce back in the fold, one big question has been about his potential workload, a topic head coach Andy Reid addressed on Thursday, June 19. As Sports Radio 810 WHB revealed, Reid said Kelce's playing time will be "similar to last year," and praised the tight end for being in great shape.

"He's in great shape right now, so I think he's looking forward to getting going," Reid said of Kelce.

The longtime coach was then asked if there were any differences in the plan considering Kelce's age.

"Listen, I always watch him, I always keep an eye on him. I know he's getting older, he doesn't know he's getting older, but I do," Reid joked. "So I can be the bad guy in some cases there if needed. If I think it's catching up to him a little bit, I'll pull off and put him where he needs to be. He hasn't shown me any of that yet; he's done really well with it."
