Pundit gives shock Premier League verdict on Leeds United star – player could be replaced this…

Leeds United fans know that not every player from last season will make it into the Premier League. The level of quality is above some of the club’s current crop.

It is part of the reason why the Whites seem to be aggressive in this transfer window. So far, the plan is to improve the spine of the team. Leeds have already added a forward in Lukas Nmecha. The German comes in with top flight experience, and offers some versatility in attack.

A deal for Udinese star Jaka Bijol is almost near completion; the defender will bolster an already solid defensive core. If Leeds can pull off a deal for Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra, the quality of the team goes up a notch.

One area that Daniel Farke has been keen to improve is attacking midfield. The Leeds United boss has tried to sign options to fill that role since last year. A move for Gus Hamer failed, so Brenden Aaronson took up the role for the past season. And even though the American played well, there are still questions over his ability.

Former Leeds star Danny Mills has also asked questions over the midfielder’s suitability for the Premier League:

“It’s always going to be a test. Players find their level. Once you have a bit of a go, then you go away and drop down again.” Mills said speaking to GOAL.

“There haven’t been too many takers for Aaronson. I haven’t seen too many Premier League clubs knocking on the door and saying ‘we’ll have him’. He’s on the fringes, I would say.

“He sits in that middle ground of very good player in the Championship, but Premier League? Possibly, but a little bit unknown, still a bit of a gamble.

Leeds need to find an upgrade on Aaronson

Even if the club do not find an upgrade on the American, they need to find competition for him. Leeds cannot risk him going on a poor run of games like last season. Daniel Farke and the recruitment team have a huge task on their hands. Hopefully the Whites can find a solution to this later in the window.
