The 22-year-old continued to impress last season as he ended with 14 goals and 15 assists in 54 appearances across all competitions.

Eight of his goals and 11 assists came in 37 outings in the Premier League, and beyond the numbers, the attacking midfielder further cemented himself as being a pivotal figure in Unai Emery’s starting XI.
Off the back of that impressive reliability, durability, progression, development and production, [Villa confirmed](https://x.com/AVFCOfficial/status/1935608546688634888) that Rogers has made the six-man shortlist for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, and it’s hoped that he can cap off an excellent campaign with an individual accolade that would certainly be deserved.
The England international does face stiff competition though with Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri also nominated, but many will feel as though Rogers has done more than enough to fend them all off and pick up the award.
It’s hoped that the Villa ace is able to sufficiently rest and recover for the rest of the summer and come back raring to go for pre-season next month, as he’ll undoubtedly have a major role to play for us again next year.
As noted above, with his physicality, pace, technical ability and work ethic, Rogers has emerged as one of the most important players at Emery’s disposal given the way in which he thrives in our system and style of play, and with his goal contributions on top of that, he has the opportunity and talent to go from strength to strength.
Villa have had recent winners of this particular award with James Milner and Ashley Young picking up the honour, and it’s hoped that Rogers is able to follow in their footsteps and go on to have a brilliant future with us as we look to continue to build and improve, and it’s fair to say that Emery has proven to be the ideal coach to help the Villa man flourish.
