Adam Schefter's PGA Tour Move is Turning Heads

For NFL and college football fans alike, we are officially in the dog days of the calendar year.

There are around 70 days until the college football season kicks off, and around 80 days until the start of the NFL season.

While fans may feel the football deprivation the most, they aren't the only ones looking for other sports or activities to pass the time. ESPN's NFL insider, Adam Schefter, known for breaking the biggest stories in the sport, has taken his reporting skills to the links for Thursday's Travelers Championship.

As confirmed by the PGA, Schefter is serving as the on-course reporter for PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+, as he was assigned to the group of Rory McIlroy and Keegan Bradley.

While Schefter is undoubtedly one of the best reporters in the industry, fans had plenty to say about his offseason line of work.

"Spread the love we see this guy enough in the nfl," wrote one fan.

"Give it 48 hours and he’ll leak tee times and caddie splits," predicted another.

"Why? And he looks completely lost out there. Stick to football. We have enough really good, experienced golf reporters, we don’t need an NFL guy. Silly," expressed a third.

"Interesting crossover. Adam Schefter doing golf now on ESPN+," said another.

"Why does @espn make their employees do like 100 jobs," questioned another.

This isn't the first time that Schefter has dabbled in reporting on another sport, as he has had chances to fill in as a sideline reporter for NBA games in the past.

He also emerged as a candidate to replace ESPN's former NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, who stepped away from his role to become the general manager of St. Bonaventure's men's basketball program.

While Schefter didn't commit to reporting on golf when asked about his future, he did express he'd love to do it again.

“I had a great time. Whatever they want to do, I’m always game for,” Schefter said via PGA. “To me, it’s a privilege and an honor to be out here. If I get invited back, I’ll come back, but they might say, ‘We’ve had enough of you on the course, Adam Scheffler. We don’t want to see you again.’”

Clearly, Schefter can do it all.
