The agent of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has broken his silence on the player’s future amid growing speculation linking the Slovenian international with a move to Arsenal.

Speaking to Fabrizio Romano in an interview forGIVEMESPORT, Sesko agent, Elvis Basanovic, addressed the mounting transfer rumours while emphasising the importance of handling any potential exit from Leipzig with respect and professionalism.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with the 22-year-old, who netted 39 goals across two seasons in Germany, and are reportedly prioritising his signing over other targets, including Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres. However, Basanovic was clear that no final decision has been made and suggested that a transfer is far from imminent.

“Sesko is not competing with anyone,” Basanovic stated. “It’s him vs him every day. We have a clear plan for the future, and media speculation doesn’t affect us. Sesko is not just a striker, he is a special striker.”

While recent reports suggested that Arsenal are attempting to negotiate a reduced fee, Basanovic firmly denied any such claims, reinforcing the camp’s respect for RB Leipzig’s stance.

“This is far from the truth!” he said. “We respect RB Leipzig and I am 100% convinced RB Leipzig will also respect our decision for the next step, when we decide to do it. It can be next week… or next year, or in three years!”

Basanovic further emphasised that Sesko would not attempt to force a move or apply pressure on the club, stating: “Even if there may be or will be a strong desire of the player to move to a certain club, we will never force or blackmail RB Leipzig. I believe this is not the right way because the way you exit a club shows your values, values that you bring into a new club.”

The comments will likely be welcomed by Leipzig, who are determined to maintain control over the striker’s future amid interest from several top European clubs. Sesko has a release clause reportedly worth around €80 million, which Arsenal may have to trigger if they wish to land the 6’5″ forward this summer.
