Who from the NFL All Quarter team was snubbed on the Arizona Cardinals?

With NFL training camps set to begin in over a month, the Arizona Cardinals enter a critical third year under head coach Jonathan Gannon.

After a promising 2024 season in which the birds went 8-9, the team will look to take the next steps forward in an attempt to make a run at the NFC West division title.

With the competition being close in the division, many players stepped up last year to shine on their respective teams. ESPN combined some current players with incredible past athletes to create the perfect NFL All Quarter Century team.

Let's look at who represented the Arizona Cardinals, who made it, and who was snubbed.

Two Cardinals legends make ESPN's All Quarter Century team

Who Made it

Calais Campbell - (Defensive End)

With the luxury of a 17-year stint in the NFL, Campbell's numbers back up the longevity of every team he's been on. The 6-foot-8-inch, 300-pound mammoth is a natural performer on the football field and is still continually chasing history.

He just needs one more sack to surpass Aaron Donald's career record of 111 sacks. He is fourth in the EPA rankings of all players and first among d-linemen.

Because of his athleticism and versatility, teams have moved Campbell all around the defensive line to determine what they need him to play to win football games.

For the Cardinals, he plays the 3-technique, which has worked the best for him as that's the position he's taken the most reps for to help out the defense.

Patrick Peterson - (Cornerback)

Peterson has had a long and interesting career, but his most memorable plays and best moments were from his eight-year stint with the Arizona Cardinals. From 2011 to 18, the corner was above mid in yards allowed per target every year.

Besides reaching new heights when permitting a league-best 4.4 yards per target in 2015, he tied for eighth with Richard Sherman in picks over the past quarter century.

After finishing in Phoenix, Peterson's stats dropped with the Minnesota Vikings (2021-22) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (2023). Still, he will always be remembered here in Phoenix as one of the many Arizona Cardinals' greats.

Who Was Snubbed

Larry Fitzgerald - (Wide Receiver)

There is no excuse as to why Larry Fitzgerald was snubbed from making this list. When he was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the third overall pick in the 2004 NFL draft, the Cardinals were a train wreck that no one wanted to play for.

Fitzgerald changed the franchise's fortunes and helped the team make a miracle run to the Super Bowl. The team went 9-7 in 2008 and won the NFC West under Ken Whisenhunt.

During his seventeen-year career, all with the Cardinals, Fitzgerald accumulated 17,482 receiving yards and 121 touchdown catches on 1,432 receptions. He also turned what was a doormat franchise into a relevant playoff contender year after year.

How do you not put someone like Fitzgerald, who stayed on one team his entire career and changed the culture? Other players started coming to Phoenix to play for the Cardinals, whereas no one wanted to be there before.
