Liverpool are expected to make a significant offer for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to The Telegraph.
The Premier League winners have reportedly earmarked the England international as a potential replacement for Bayer Leverkusen-bound Jarell Quansah and are prepared to step up their interest with an initial bid soon.
While there have been no formal offers for Guehi from any interested clubs yet, Liverpool are believed to be in the best position to do a deal, with only a year left on the 24-year-old’s contract at Selhurst Park.
Guehi was heavily linked with a Palace departure in the past two transfer windows, as Newcastle saw four bids rejected last summer, while Tottenham’s offer in January was also turned down.

According to The Telegraph, Guehi will be sold by Palace this summer, as there is no prospect of a contract renewal with only 12 months remaining.
While he has been a long-term target for both Newcastle and his former club Chelsea, Liverpool appear to be best placed to sign the 24-year-old ‘superstar’ and beat fellow Premier League clubs to his signature.
Palace are hoping to secure a ‘major’ fee from Guehi’s departure, while Liverpool aim to reinvest the £30m they will receive from Bayer Leverkusen for Quansah into acquiring a new central defender.
Liverpool have already welcomed Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong as their first summer signing and are expected to complete two more early deals.
The Reds will land Frimpong’s former teammate Florian Wirtz in a club-record £116m deal, while Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is also expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
