Darwin Nunez set for summer exit after Liverpool receives offer from Serie A club

Darwin Nunez’s time at Liverpool might soon be coming to an end. The Uruguayan striker, who arrived in a big-money deal three years ago, is now on the radar of Napoli — and this time, it’s serious.

Napoli, the Serie A club looking to rebuild their frontline, have set their sights on the 25-year-old forward. While they’ve already secured Lorenzo Lucca, they see Nunez as the better fit up front.

According to reports (via Alfredo Pedulla), they’ve submitted an opening offer worth around €42–43 million and are pushing to get the deal done fast.

Liverpool haven’t shut the door on Nunez leaving this summer. While they value him at closer to €50 million plus bonuses, there’s a sense they’d accept the right bid — especially if they can sign a proper replacement.

Napoli push as Liverpool eye Darwin Nunez replacement

Darwin Nunez has scored 40 goals and recorded 26 assists in 143 appearances for the Reds. Those aren’t terrible numbers, but considering the club paid nearly €100 million in total to sign him from Benfica, fans were expecting more fireworks and fewer near-misses.

Despite some flashes of brilliance, his inconsistency has kept him from being a guaranteed starter. And now, with Napoli keen and Liverpool spending heavily on other areas — including deals for Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong — the writing may be on the wall.

Napoli aren’t alone in chasing Nunez. Atletico Madrid and clubs in Saudi Arabia are also keeping tabs. But it’s the Italian side that’s making the first real move.

If Nunez does leave, Liverpool must act fast. They’ve been linked with Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, but both come with sky-high price tags. For a club aiming to stay at the top, losing a No. 9 without a clear plan could leave them short up front.
