Arsenal make contact over midfielder who Thierry Henry said 'has no limits', the 'sky's the limit' for him

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their squad this summer in pursuit of a more successful 2025/26 campaign, and Warren Zaire-Emery has emerged as a target.

TBR Football have confirmed that Zaire-Emery is in Arsenal’s sights, with the Gunners having made an enquiry for the Paris Saint-Germain star.

Although Arsenal are set to sign Martin Zubimendi this summer, there’s certainly scope to bring in more reinforcements in the middle of the park.

Jorginho has left, Thomas Partey’s contract is running out and Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga face uncertain futures at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has already delivered his verdict on Zaire-Emery, and Gunners fans will like what the Highbury icon has said.

Thierry Henry said ‘the sky’s the limit’ for Warren Zaire-Emery

Thierry Henry previously managed France’s Under-21s and, in his first match in charge, he gave Zaire-Emery – then 17 years old – the captain’s armband.

Zaire-Emery inspired Les Espoirs to a 4-1 friendly win over Denmark’s U21s on 7 September 2023.

“One can say it’s early for him to be a starter at PSG and the captain of France U21,” Henry told Le Parisien post-match.

“I have no problem with it. We know very well what he can do. I wanted to see what he was made of and he responded well.”

The following month, Zaire-Emery provided two assists in PSG’s 3-0 victory over AC Milan in the Champions League.

Henry was blown away as he told CBS Sports: “The way Warren Zaire-Emery is playing, it is normal to run the show at just 17 years old.

“He was the only one that held his ground at St James’ Park. He’s been magnificent… the sky is the limit. I have never seen a player that young being so mature.

“Usually, you have youngsters that play as forwards that make the difference.

“But when you play in midfield for a team like PSG, you need to readjust. It is rare to see such a young player in that position.”

Henry continued: “I gave him the armband (as France U21s boss) because I wanted to see the next thing.

“I know that physically, he is strong, he can run, he can see a pass, he can stop a counter. I want to know if he can also stop a player by talking.

“I gave him the armband to know if he could direct the team and talk. That was my way of seeing if he could do that, and trust me, he can. This guy has no limits.”

However, Zaire-Emery found starts somewhat hard to come by in the second half of last season – from the turn of the year, he started just half of PSG’s games.

He only got a few minutes off the bench in the Champions League final win over Inter Milan, and didn’t have a chance to make an impact.

With that in mind, Arsenal have decided to try their luck – but Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also circling.
