One player Leeds fans have had their reservations about is Brenden Aaronson; many feel the American is not fit to be in the team next season. Even Ex-Leeds man Danny Mills questioned the attacking midfielder’s ability at the Premier League level.
The Whites could have the perfect chance to replace the 24-year old this summer. Manchester City’s James McAtee could be on the move soon. According to Alex Crook, the attacking midfielder has turned down a contract extension and could force a transfer this summer. Leeds United have been credited with interest in signing him this year, and a deal could well be possible.
McAtee could be the goal threat Leeds need
Brenden Aaronson is a very passive player in the number 10 role. He works hard, and creates chances when the opportunity comes, but his production infront of goal leaves a lot to be desired. The American scored nine league goals last season, his highest ever tally in his career.
There is a reason why Daniel Farke was keen on signing a more dynamic attacking midfielder.

McAtee could offer exactly that. The Manchester City man is able to create openings for himself. He loves to shoot the ball, and that creates a lot of opportunities. McAtee was a huge spark in the Sheffield United team in the Premier League in 2023/24, and could replicate that for Leeds next season.
