Everton’s summer business has got off to a slow start as the second month of the market nears.
David Moyes is currently enjoying some time away from Merseyside having been seen in Miami at the Club World Cup.
It is unclear as to whether the 62-year-old has travelled to keep an eye on some potential transfer targets or just through the love of the game.
Everton have already made one signing this summer but it is not a new face, with Carlos Alcaraz signed permanently from Flamengo.
Angus Kinnear has warned of huge work needed at Everton this summer to get the club to where the new owners aspire to be.
Contract sagas always threatened to push Everton back in the market, with some players still to confirm where their futures lie.
However, the Toffees have just been hailed as they’re about to pull off one of the signings of the summer.

Everton set to land Nick Cox from Manchester United
Massive changes are taking place behind the scenes at Finch Farm this summer as the Friedkins put their stamp on the club.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Everton are set to hire Nick Cox from Manchester United as their new technical director in just one of many acquisitions this summer.
It is a move which has been hailed by journalist Nathan Salt as one of the best pieces of business any club will make this summer.
“I don’t think it’s a good move – I think it’s a great move,” Salt said. “I think it’ll be one of the best pieces of business any club will do all summer,” he told BBC Radio Merseyside.
“All of the people I’ve spoken to said he is one of the best in academy football, and I know that’s not going to be his role but he’s been chomping at the bit to get a senior job.
“He’s turned down multiple technical director and sporting director offers across Europe at clubs at decent level and all the word I’ve got is that he was directly headhunted by Everton and he just found it too good to turn down.”
Kinnear has also brought Nick Hammond to Everton from Leeds United in what has been a massive summer for the club.
The best part for fans is that the most exciting part is yet to come with new players soon set to land on Merseyside.
The Friedkins show their aspirations as Everton owners
Clearly, Everton have landed themselves a real coup of an addition with the appointment of Cox.
What is perhaps most impressive is it is implied the Toffees beat a number of top clubs to the signature of the United chief.
Everton have been quiet in the window so far as they get the ducks in a row this summer, but they are putting together the backroom staff to compete with the best.
It has been suggested Everton will become much busier in the final week of June and into July when it comes to transfers.
But fans will surely rather see the club take a little longer and get the right people in to suit the long-term vision of the Friedkins.
