Player needs to escape‘boredom of Liverpool’–Currently evaluating transfer after turning to ghost

On Thursday, new Italy national team manager Rino Gattuso made it clear that Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa needs to play more at club level if he wants a part with the Azzurri.

Gattuso’s statements have sent alarm bells ringing in Italy and Corriere della Sera have looked at Chiesa’s situation at Anfield.

They claim that while the winger decided to stay at Liverpool in January, he’ll now review his choices, having made six appearances in the 2024/25 Premier League season.

The newspaper claim the 27-year-old needs to escape the ‘boredom of Liverpool’ and play in Serie A, where he is more likely to play regularly. Corriere della Sera say Chiesa has turned into something of a ghost footballer since his move to England.

Chiesa is seriously considering an exit from Anfield and has attracted interest from both AC Milan and Napoli.

The Rossoneri manager Max Allegri had Chiesa at Juventus and is still interested, but Milan have doubts about his fitness and would not be able to afford his current wages. Napoli have expressed their interest in the player, although they’re currently focused on Darwin Nunez.
