Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim demands transfers speed up and sets Ineos deadline

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is eager to have his new recruits join the squad for their pre-season tour of the USA in four weeks. Despite a slow start to their summer recruitment, with only £62.5million winger Matheus Cunha from Wolves signed so far, Amorim is keen on a significant revamp of his team.

Potential targets include Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike and Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres, who previously played under Amorim.

Amorim is keen for the new signings to be part of United's three-match tour of the States, where they will face West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton in the Premier League Summer Series. The manager views the tour as an ideal opportunity for the new players to fully integrate with the squad and adapt to the team's system ahead of the new season, reports the Mirror.

Amorim also wants to quickly offload players he deems surplus to requirements, including Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony. However, finding buyers for these players is proving challenging due to their high wage demands and poor form last season, which has deterred clubs from meeting their market valuations.

Marcus Rashford is reportedly keen on a move to Barcelona, but negotiations have been slow. Meanwhile, Napoli have shown interest in Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho, though they're reluctant to meet United's asking price.

The transfer window was briefly opened from 1st to 10th June to facilitate recruitment ahead of the Club World Cup, before reopening on Monday and will close on 1st September.

Despite Manchester United's disappointing Premier League performance last season, finishing a dismal 15th, Bruno Fernandes has been nominated for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award.

Fernandes faces stiff competition from Liverpool pair Mo Salah and Alexis MacAllister, Newcastle's Alexander Isak, Arsenal's Declan Rice and Chelsea's Cole Palmer.

United's captain Fernandes netted eight times in 36 league outings last term and scored 19 goals across all competitions. The accolade will be handed out at a ceremony in Manchester on 19th August.

The last time a United player clinched this honour was Wayne Rooney back in 2010, with the current title held by Manchester City and England forward Phil Foden.
