Florian Wirtz is now officially a Liverpool player, having completed the second part of his medical successfully.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports that Wirtz’s Liverpool medical is now done and sealed.
According to the Plettenberg, Wirtz has now signed his contract with Liverpool also. That deal will run until 2030. The Reds will announce his arrival at some point today.
This follows reports yesterday that Wirtz had flown to Manchester on a private jet with his family, ahead of undertaking the first part of his medical with Liverpool last night. The second part was scheduled for today and has now been completed.
Plettenberg adds that the midfielder will return to Germany for a short holiday, before then returning for the start of pre-season with Liverpool this summer.
He is unlikely to be the only new face arriving at Anfield this week either, with a deal for Milos Kerkez now in the final stages and close to close to completion according to reports earlier today.
It’s shaping up to be a big summer of spending for the Premier League champions, with Jeremie Frimpong already secured, Wirtz now done also and more signings expected in the coming weeks.
