Leeds United have made contact with the agents of Nice striker Evann Guessand about a summer transfer, according to TBR Football.
The Whites are looking to strengthen their squad for manager Daniel Farke after securing their return to the Premier League after two years in the Championship with a 100-point season, and are keen to sign a striker to fire them to safety.
A number nine is considered to be a priority signing at Elland Road this summer, and now Leeds have made contact about one of the more in-demand frontmen on the continent.

With Patrick Bamford expected to leave the club and question marks over the future of Mateo Joseph, Leeds are active in the transfer market in search of a new number nine to compete with Joel Piroe.
That has led them to Nice star Guessand, and reports now suggest that the 49ers have held talks with the representatives of the 23-year-old striker to ascertain his situation ahead of what is likely to be a busy summer transfer window.
Fenerbahce have also held talks, with the player speaking directly to Jose Mourinho, while Tottenham, Wolves, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Brighton are also showing an interest in the striker.

Guessand, who has been described as 'elite', scored 12 goals and registered eight assists in Ligue 1 in the 2024/25 season and is seen as a realistic option for the Whites if they can agree terms with the French club.
But the Ivory Coast international is not the only name on their shortlist. Leeds have already had a £32million bid rejected by Fulham for Brazilian striker Rodrigo Muniz, while reports in Italy claim there is an 'advanced interest' in striker Nikola Krstovic and the club are nearing an agreement with Lecce over a deal.
