Man City have been linked with a big-money move for Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento.
Former Premier League winger Shaun Wright-Phillips believes Manchester City should complete a “perfect” transfer window by signing Newcastle United star Tino Livramento.
Recent reports have linked the 22-year-old with a move to Pep Guardiola’s side. Kyle Walker is expected to leave the Etihad this summer - freeing up a long-term spot at right-back.
Man City are undergoing a major rebuild after an underwhelming campaign. Club legend Kevin De Bruyne has moved on and they have acted swiftly in the market to sign Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait Nouri and Marcus Bettinelli.
Tino Livramento valued at £70m
Livramento is valued at around £70million by Newcastle but Toon chiefs want to keep him at St James’ Park. He is viewed as the long-term option at right-back - with Lewis Hall on the opposite flank - and emerged as a regular first-team starter last season.
The Magpies took an initial risk signing Livramento following his ACL recovery but that has paid off tenfold. The England international starred as Newcastle won the Carabao Cup and qualified for the Champions League.
Shaun Wright-Phillips weighs in
Ex-City talisman Wright-Phillips has urged Livramento to join his former club to finalise their summer business. He said: “So far, it’s already a perfect transfer window for Manchester City, they’re getting 10 out of 10. They’ve strengthened in key areas.
“But it’s worth remembering that they made some astute signings in January. I thought they were quality players, and they’ve been able to steady the ship. They’ve added to that already with another four players on top of what has already arrived.
“More than that could be overkill. The job now is to get players on their way out the door, because Pep won’t want a squad that big. If there are outgoings, then I think the one outstanding player they could go for is Tino Livramento. After that, I don’t think they’re going on another shopping spree.”

Eddie Howe angered by Man City talk
Eddie Howe was irked earlier this year by suggestions that Livramento could join Man City. He told reporters: “It goes without saying (that he’d want to keep Livramento),” he said. “It’s frustrating for us that we’re consistently talking about players rumoured to be leaving.
“We want to go the other way and strengthen our group. We want to make the team stronger for the future rather than lose our best players.”
