Illan Meslier’s Leeds United nightmare could be set to come to an end this summer.
Given the fact that Leeds United‘s Premier League campaign gets underway in less than two months, most of the focus at Elland Road is on the transfers they can seal.
However, just as much attention will be on the decisions made in regards to those currently contracted to the Whites, with several expected to leave this summer.
One of those who could be set to depart is Meslier, after the Whites received a welcome transfer boost in the shape of an English international.

Leeds could be set to replace Meslier
Ever since the Frenchman was dropped to the bench for the latter stage of the Championship season, his future looked remarkably bleak.
MORE LEEDS STORIES
Leeds already face a near-impossible task of avoiding relegation, though having a reliable figure between the sticks will be necessary if they are to achieve that, and Meslier simply won’t be the one.

Meslier’s stats were made to look far better by the defensive foundation he had in front of him.
Instead, Leeds need to push to sign Aaron Ramsdale, after it was reported that Southampton are prepared to sanction his exit this summer.
From there, it would be highly unlikely Meslier would want to stick around as second choice, making his Elland Road exit seem inevitable at some point in the coming weeks.
Given his age and experience, Leeds would still be able to get a reasonable fee for his sale, which could aid them in their attempts to bolster their squad elsewhere.

Premier League football requires Premier League investment
If Leeds are to break the trend of newly promoted sides falling straight back down into the Championship, they need to invest smartly.
While how much you spend doesn’t determine the success you can find, it certainly plays a huge role in recruitment when it comes to attracting the level of players capable of taking this side up a notch.
Daniel Farke will undoubtedly be keen to get some more new faces through the door before the Whites begin their pre-season preparations.
