Liverpool have now formally reached an agreement with Bournemouth to sign Milos Kerkez this summer.
This is according to the reliable David Ornstein, who has confirmed the news.
Kerkez, who began his senior career at AZ Alkmaar and joined Bournemouth in July 2023 for roughly £15.5 million, offers both defensive solidity and attacking thrust from the left flank.
Having started all 38 Premier League matches for the Cherries in 2024-25, he delivered six goals and two assists while helping the club finish 13th in the table.
The fee being paid means that the south coast club are netting a tidy profit for the Hungarian international.
The negotiations between Liverpool and Bournemouth had to run their course, with the Cherries holding out for a higher valuation of £45 million+, but both clubs have now reached a full agreement.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, have already moved to reinforce their left-back options with the signings of Adrien Truffert from Rennes and Julio Soler from Lanús in January, ensuring they are well-prepared for Kerkez’s now imminent departure.
Writing for the Athletic, the Ornstein revealed that the Reds are paying in the region of £40 million for the left-back.
He adds that a medical is expected to be done next week:
“Liverpool have reached an agreement with Bournemouth to sign Milos Kerkez in a deal worth around £40 million ($54m).”
“A medical is expected to take place next week ahead of the left-back signing a five-year contract at Anfield, with the deal now moving to the paperwork stage following club-to-club agreement.”
This transfer has cast Andy Robertson’s future at the club into doubt, with Atletico Madrid very keen on the Scottish captain.
It remains to be seen what Robertson decides he wants from his career at this stage as the expectation is for Kerkez to be the first-choice on the left-flank.
