Manchester United have been scouring Europe in a bid to replace Andre Onana as Ruben Amorim’s first-choice goalkeeper.
It’s understood that United are open to letting Onana go after two problematic seasons have been a key factor to the Red Devils recording their two worst seasons of the Premier League era.
Now Onana has been linked to French side AS Monaco, pushing United search for a new first choice keeper as Altay Bayindir is also set to leave the club this summer.

As part of the search for a new man between the sticks, some top-quality keepers like PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, AC Milan’s Mike Maignan and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez have been linked to United.
However alongside these, some up-and-coming keepers like James Trafford from Burnley and LOSC Lille’s Lucas Chevalier have also made it onto the shortlist.
Of all the potential candidates to replace Onana, Martinez has emerged as United’s top target, with the World Cup winner giving a green light to the Old Trafford move.
Now, as a sign of the transfer going through soon, Villa are looking to find a replacement to Martinez.
It’s previously been reported that Villa are turning to Lille’s Chevalier as their next first-choice shot-stopper, having already made contact with the French keeper.
However, Julien Laurens has now reported that Villa have in fact contacted the Ligue 1 side to understand his availability.
The Villains are reportedly offering a move for £40 million as Martinez’s move to Old Trafford appears to grow closer.
With Villa and United due to enter talks in the coming days for Martinez, it’s no real surprise that Unai Emery’s side are looking to enter their own talks elsewhere to firm up a replacement.
