Manchester United exit a game of‘winks and sharp edges’–Player making his stance clear

Manchester United, Real Betis and Antony continue to work on a deal to take him back to the Spanish club this summer.

That’s [according to Diario de Sevilla](https://www.diariodesevilla.es/realbetis/antony-historia-guinos-betis-aristas_0_2004177454.html), who report that Antony’s potential return to Betis from Manchester United remains a story of ‘winks and sharp edges’ at this moment in time.

While the Brazilian is consistently expressing his desire to return on social media, Manchester United are standing in the way of any deal. They’re refusing to loan him out and insisting that the only option is a permanent transfer. They’re yet to accept the formulas proposed by Betis.

They’ve instead set a €35m asking price on the 25-year-old. That’s a figure which is well out of Betis’ reach for the time being.

The Spanish side instead proposed a co-ownership idea but that was rejected by Manchester United this early in the summer. It’s something which may be looked at later in the window.

The idea would be that Betis buy a portion of Antony’s rights and then buy a larger stake as they years go by. They’d initially pay €20m to sign the Brazilian this summer.

Manchester United would prefer more, €15m more to be exact, as they look to bring in funds to help their own transfer business.

Antony has made it clear to Manchester United’s management that he wants out. He is taking every opportunity, particularly on social media, to make that point and send signals to Betis.

So far, though, Manchester United’s asking price is too high and Betis need to work something out or hope that United get desperate late in the window if other suitors don’t give them what they want.
