Teddy Sharman-Lowe, currently with the England squad at the U21 Euros in Slovakia, will be heading to Bolton Wanderers at the tournament’s conclusion, having signed on loan with the League One side for the upcoming season.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper, who joined Chelsea at age 17 from Burton Albion’s youth system, has also signed a new three-year contract with Chelsea prior to agreeing the loan deal with Bolton. There he’s set to replace former Chelsea prospect Nathan Baxter, who signed with Watford a couple weeks ago.
Sharman-Lowe has yet to make his senior Chelsea debut, but he had a very productive loan spell at Doncaster Rovers last year, making 51 appearances and helping the League Two side earn promotion to League One ... where they will now face him when they play against Bolton, incidentally.
Wanderers finished eighth last season and will be hoping to at least make the promotion playoffs. Once of the Premier League, they had tumbled all the way down to the fourth division over the past couple decades, but look to be on their way up once again.
“I’m very excited to be here. It’s another great challenge for me. Coming to a club as big as Bolton – with its past in the Premier League as well and aspirations to be back there – I think I can really kick on and it’s another great opportunity for me.
“It’s a beautiful stadium and I’m sure there will be a lot of fans here. I’m very excited to get going and I’m really looking forward to the season. Hopefully we can get promoted this year. It’s obviously been the aim for the past few years and there’s a real ambition in the club to get it done this year.”

Another former Chelsea prospect, Xavier Simons was signed recently from Hull City to help them in that regard as well.
Good luck!
