Crystal Palace now set to submit €40m offer – First Eagles bid

Earlier on Friday, we covered the latest from Portugal on Crystal Palace and Ousmane Diomande.

The Portuguese media has been covering Crystal Palace interest in the Sporting CP defender for a long time, and at the beginning of this month they explained the Eagles were waiting for market movements before making a lunge for the defender.

Those market movements were related to Marc Guéhi and as soon as it became clear he was edging towards the exit, Crystal Palace kicked off their Diomande efforts.

The Friday reports explained an offer was being formulated by the Premier League club and was expected to arrive soon. Sporting have the player secured to a contract lasting until 2027, so are in now panic.

That contract has a release clause worth €80m, and whilst reports stated the Lisbon club would be looking for something close to that, that appeared to be posturing from them.

O Jogo now report Crystal Palace are set to make an offer worth €40m for the 21-year-old. It’s breaking news for O Jogo and whilst they don’t have a lengthy Sporting reaction yet, it’s made clear the club wants more than €40m.
