Tino Livramento and James Trafford of England talk during a training session
Newcastle United star Tino Livramento will be back to help England's bid for glory in the U21 UEFA European Championships against Spain.
The former Chelsea man was only selected on the bench against Germany for England's 2-1 defeat at the Euros, and didn't appear despite the Young Lions' struggles.
But Lee Carsley's side still went through to the last eight to set up a red hot tie against Spain with a Saturday night showdown in store in Slovakia.
Despite fears he was injured, with Livramento hobbling at the end of the 0-0 draw with Slovenia, it proved to be nothing but a precaution. The ex-Southampton ace was simply rested for the group game defeat.
Livramento could not have a better mentor at the Euros with England and Chelsea legend Ashley Cole currently one of the senior coaches with the U21s.
Cole won more than 100 senior caps and Livramento revealed how much he enjoyed working with him. He said: "Ash still gets involved in the sessions and it is at the highest level the way he communicates.
"As a coach he is quite laid back. He may pull you to one side afterwards and do some 1:1 work. As a Chelsea fan when I was younger it is a big thing to learn from him."
Given Livramento has thrived on the left with England this summer, as the Three Lions prepare to face Spain in the quarter-finals this weekend, it was put to the defender by reporters in eastern Europe whether he now had found his best position.
The 22-year-old said: "I wouldn't say playing as a left-back is my favourite position, but as long as I'm out there and playing I'm really enjoying my football right now."
Livramento ended the season on the left for Newcastle after starring on that flank in Lewis Hall's absence.
