Manchester City have been fined £210,000 for breaking rules during their 6-0 win at Portman Road earlier this year.

The punishment is for a breach of Premier League rule L.33, relating to late kick-offs.

On January 19, City reached the break 3-0 up in Suffolk thanks to goals from Phil Foden (2) and Mateo Kovacic.

It's been deemed that Pep Guardiola's men 'delayed the restart' by two minutes and 22 seconds.

City were fined more than £2m in 2024 after breaching L.33 on 22 separate occasions across two seasons.

Now they have accepted and apologised for nine more breaches of L.33 across 2024/25. The delay at Portman Road was the eighth incident of the campaign, with fines going up incrementally. Their total amount in fines is £1.03m.

"Rules relating to kick-offs and restarts help ensure the organisation of the competition is set at the highest possible professional standard and provides certainty to fans and participating clubs," [said the league in a statement.](https://www.premierleague.com/news/4324841)

"It also ensures the broadcast of every Premier League match is kept to schedule."
