Leeds United may alter their plans after a significant update regarding a transfer for Lille left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson.
The Sweden international is being eyed at Elland Road as the Whites look to bolster their defence this summer.
Daniel Farke could be without Junior Firpo next season, and the West Yorkshire outfit will arguably need to find a quality replacement if he leaves.
The Peacocks have identified the Lihue 1 outfit’s 26-year-old star as a potential option, but supporters could potentially have to wait before anything major happens on that front.

Apparently, while the Whites are interested in signing the 26-year-old at Elland Road, nothing seems imminent right now.
Farke will hope Adam Underwood gets deals done quickly in the coming weeks, as the German manager has a mammoth task of keeping the West Yorkshire outfit alive in the Premier League.

Farke will hope for new Firpo contract at Leeds
Real Betis are working on getting Firpo from Leeds, which will force them to look for a new quality left-back this summer.
Sam Byram could also be on his way out of Elland Road soon, which will undoubtedly give the recruitment department a headache regarding the left-hand side of defence.
The Whites already seemingly have several priorities this transfer window, with a new goalkeeper undoubtedly at the top of their list.
Illan Meslier’s time at Leeds has surely ended after Farke dropped him in favour of Karl Darlow towards the end of last season.
With Jaka Bijol’s potential arrival, the German manager will be happy with his centre-back options going into next season, barring any injuries or exits.
Lukas Nmecha has been signed to add depth in attack, but the West Yorkshire outfit could undoubtedly do with another reliable goalscorer in their ranks.
Signing a player like Gudmundsson will evidently take precedence if the Whites lose Firpo, and his situation will be one to monitor closely.
