After a month of silence, Manchester United sales are beginning to move forward.
In order to complete the transfer business desired by Ineos, sales are needed to raise funds.
Manchester United’s PSR woes have been eased after the past period figures were released; however, the transfer kitty this summer is simply not big enough for all the transfers targeted without selling.
This is because United are believed to have just £73m in cash reserves, which will need to be bolstered with sales over the next few months.
Movement on this has begun, with Juventus offering £21m for Jadon Sancho, which would be a sale that eliminates one of Ineos’ biggest problems over the past 12 months.
Additionally, Real Betis are set to offer a deal for Antony, which will be an initial fee with further percentages over the next few months. However, United will also be hoping to receive additional cash from sell-on clauses.

Mason Greenwood set to remain at Marseille this summer
United could earn around £20m from selling Alvaro Fernandez this summer as Real Madrid close in on a deal for the Spaniard.
Another potential influx of cash could have come from Mason Greenwood, after his incredible season for Marseille. However, now United in Focus have spoken with Graeme Bailey about Greenwood and his future.

“On Greenwood, I did check with his people, and I am told that a summer transfer is now highly unlikely. This is mainly due to Marseille getting into the Champions League.
“An additional reason is that Greenwood’s main options are busy this summer on other things, like Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Greenwood also likes playing under De Zerbi, and he’s still there, so it works for all.
“United will see cash from Greenwood, just not this season. Next summer, he plans to represent Jamaica in the World Cup, which is a chance to grow his value.”
If sold this summer, it is thought that Greenwood would fetch a fee of between £50m and £60m, of which United would be entitled to 50 per cent of everything above £26.6m. So a £50m sale would entitle United to £11.7m, and so on.

Ineos would have taken the £11.7m this summer, with finances stretched, as it would’ve been a big help in the business United are looking to complete.
However, by waiting another 12 months, United could actually end up benefiting.
Greenwood was Ligue 1’s top scorer, with 21 goals and six assists in 34 games. After such a strong first campaign, hopes will be high that he can have an even better second season.
Marseille being in the Champions League also gives Greenwood the chance to boost his status and valuation this way by showing the same goal scoring in Europe as he has in France.
Finally, Greenwood in the World Cup is yet another opportunity for him to prove himself on the highest stage, which could see United pocket double the £11.7m estimate this summer.
