Arsenal are going to have a busy summer transfer window.
While no new arrivals have officially been announced yet, the Gunners are close to bringing a couple of new players in.
Martin Zubimendi is close to joining Arsenal, while Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to sign too.
On top of that, Arsenal are set to bring in a few fresh attacking additions too. Arsenal will sign a new striker this summer, while a new left winger is also on the agenda.
Rodrygo has been linked to Arsenal, while Rafael Leao is also a target for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Speaking on Inside Gooners, Ben Jacobs has been discussing some of Arsenal’s attacking targets, and he says that the north London club shouldn’t be discounted in the race to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, despite the fact he’s agreed to join Chelsea.

Arsenal could pinch Jamie Gittens
Arsenal could still be in the mix to sign Jamie Gittens, according to Jacobs.
The journalist notes that while most people think Gittens is headed to Chelsea, Arsenal shouldn’t be discounted in this race if Chelsea fail to agree a fee with Borussia Dortmund over this transfer.
“I know people think that move to Chelsea is a foregone conclusion. He (Gittens) has agreed a seven-year deal with the Blues, but they’ve not agreed a package with Dortmund. The expectation is that when the window reopens on the 16th, Chelsea will continue to negotiate for Jamie Gittens and they’re not far off,” Jacobs said.
“But don’t discount Arsenal. That might be a slightly left-field profile to look at if Chelsea can’t agree a fee with Dortmund.”
Arsenal vs Chelsea recent transfer battles
Arsenal could pinch Gittens from Chelsea, and this wouldn’t be the first time in recent years that these two clubs have battled over a signing.
Indeed, Arsenal and Chelsea often lock horns over key targets.
Chelsea famously took Mykhaylo Mudryk from under Arsenal’s noses, while Arsenal signed Declan Rice after years of Chelsea courting Rice.
On top of that, Chelsea wanted Riccardo Calafiori before he signed for Arsenal, while Arsenal bid for Moises Caicedo just a few months before he joined Chelsea.
These two clubs have had some intriguing transfer tussles over the years, and now, they could be set to do battle again over Gittens.
It remains to be seen where Gittens ends up, but, at the moment, it looks like he could be Stamford Bridge-bound.
