The Marcus Rashford Swap Deal With Newcastle United That Would Shock The Premier League - Opinion

Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford could move to Newcastle United this summer as he seeks a move away.

Rashford returned from his loan spell at Aston Villa, and is now looking for his next move, after the Midlands-based club decided against paying the £40m option to buy, and keeping him at Villa Park.

The England international did find form at Villa, however, scoring two goals and providing four assists for Unai Emery’s side in just 14 matches. It has been reported that Rashford wants a move to Barcelona, but it is not clear whether the La Liga giants are willing to pay the fee to bring him in.

Recent reports have now linked the winger with a move to Newcastle United. According to the Sun, Newcastle are confident that they would be able to re-ignite the 27-year-old’s career if he moved to St James’ Park this summer.

Man United should swap Rashford for Gordon

Seeing as the Red Devils are wanting to add another attacker this summer, they could use the Rashford interest from Newcastle as a potential swap opportunity.

They are trying to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, but Tottenham also want him, and it is not clear yet as to where the Cameroon international will end up.

With that in mind, Man United could re-ignite their interest in Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon, and offer a swap deal with Rashford going the other way.

Gordon has been one of the best wingers in the Premier league over the past few years. This season, he made 42 appearances for Eddie Howe’s side, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists. His pace would give United something that they didn’t have under Ruben Amorim last season, an attacking threat that can simply run through an opposing defence.
