Graham Potter did not enjoy the best start to life at West Ham.
The 50-year-old won just five of his 18 Premier League matches in charge of the Hammers after replacing Julen Lopetegui in January.
The former Brighton man needs to be handed a significant budget by David Sullivan this summer, otherwise things may get worse before they get better.
The Hammers finished 14th in the top-flight after a miserable campaign and Potter’s ability to turn the situation around has been questioned.

West Ham relegation mooted in Potter verdict
Potter struggled to get the best out of the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus after being appointed by the Irons.

Rory Jennings does not believe that the situation will get any better in his first full season in charge, in fact, he thinks that the E20 outfit will be relegation candidates.
In quotes reported by talkSPORT (20 June), on which Jennings regularly appears as a host, he said: “I’ve never known a manager who is so not befitting the club.
“West Ham United are a proud club with a rich history, with a chip on their shoulder and a very passionate and vocal fanbase. None of that chimes with the man that Graham Potter is.
“Nothing about West Ham United sits comfortably with Graham Potter at the helm. Whilst he is there, I think they are genuine relegation candidates.”

Jennings is bitter with West Ham claims
Hammers supporters want their team to play attractive football, that is what the ex-Seagulls manager brings, if he has the right personnel.
He needs to be backed in the transfer window by Sullivan to bring in the right players that fit his system, rather than shoehorning in options that are not good enough like Niclas Fullkrug and Carlos Soler.
Jennings is coming off as a bitter and deluded Chelsea fan, who clearly does not forgive Potter for his underwhelming spell at Stamford Bridge.
It is clear to see that the ex-Blues man just needs to put his own stamp on things at the London Stadium after inheriting an utter mess from Lopetegui and Tim Steidten.
If he does that, there is no reason why his side cannot start to climb the table, they should be nowhere near a relegation battle, despite what Jennings has said.
Potter has credit in the bank for now, due to the fact that the squad was not his own but after signings are added and deadwood has been shifted, that is when it will be fair to judge his reign.
