The 44-year-old former United midfielder spent four seasons with the senior team and played 38 times and netted twice and picked up five assists during his spell.
However, Luke Chadwick struggled to establish himself as a regular under Ferguson and he was subjected to abuse around his appearance and he struggled with injuries.
Speaking to Manchester United’s official website, the ex-Red Devils academy product spoke out about his time under former United and Aberdeen manager Ferguson.
The former West Ham and Stoke City player insisted that he didn’t stand a chance competing against the likes of David Beckham and Ryan Giggs in the first team.
“I don’t think it [the abuse] is the reason I didn’t have a glittering football career at Manchester United,” Chadwick said.
“It came [to] the point where I wasn’t at the level of my peers. You mentioned the players blocking my path to the first team – David Beckham and Ryan Giggs, as a winger.
“I couldn’t exactly go and knock on the manager’s door and say I should be playing here.”
