**Lee Carsley's Young Lions scraped into the quarter-finals of the U21s European Championships despite defeat to Germany on Wednesday night.**
Going into the game on Wednesday night, England needed just a point to guarantee passage into the quarter finals, and while England fell to a 2-1 defeat, Czechia beat Slovenia, meaning England's result was moot.
Lee Carsley didn't include Tino Livramento in his squad on Wednesday night despite the Newcastle United full-back having been one of England's best players in the first two games.
Given Tino's past with injuries, it was a worrying couple of days for Newcastle fans after Livramento hobbled off the pitch after the draw with Slovenia, but [The Chronicle](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tino-livramento-absence-explained-newcastle-31900843) have confirmed that his absence on Wednesday was merely a precaution.

Tino Livramento will return to the England lineup on Saturday night
Tino Livramento is learning from arguably England's best-ever left-back
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, Tino Livramento has been talking about the coaching sessions with England, learning from Ashley Cole.
> "Ash still gets involved in the sessions, and it is at the highest level the way he communicates.
>
> "As a coach he is quite laid back. He may pull you to one side afterwards and do some 1:1 work. As a Chelsea fan when I was younger it is a big thing to learn from him."
Tino Livramento has spoken about playing at left-back
-----------------------------------------------------
Livramento spent the back-end of last season playing for Newcastle as a left-back, which is where he's found himself playing for England under Lee Carsley, but Lewis Hall needn't worry that his best mate is trying to take over his place in the Newcastle team.
> "I wouldn't say playing as a left-back is my favourite position, but as long as I'm out there and playing, I'm really enjoying my football right now."
Let's hope that with Tino back in the team, England can put in a better performance against Spain on Saturday night. The game will kick off at 8pm with a place in the semi-finals up for grabs as England continue their title defence.
