Manchester United will be hoping that everything goes to plan during the summer transfer window this year.

Ruben Amorim will be preparing for his first full season as United's head coach and seek major improvement on the 15th place finish in the Premier League from last term. The transfer market gives United the opportunity to strengthen their squad and have already made one new signing.

Matheus Cunha has arrived at Old Trafford after United agreed to pay the £62.5million release clause in the Brazilian's contract at Molineux.

United will now be hoping that more new arrivals walk through the door over the next couple of months before the September 1 deadline.

A host of players have already been linked with signing for United this summer. Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo is a known target for United, with an opening offer worth £45million plus £10million in add-ons already rejected.

The Bees are reported to value Mbeumo at around £70million, and there is still confidence from United that they can bring the Cameroon international to Old Trafford.

United are also looking to sign a striker this summer, having missed out on Liam Delap who instead completed a £30million switch to Chelsea. Sporting Lisbon centre forward Viktor Gyokeres has been heavily linked with signing for United, and is reported to be available for around £60million this summer.

There have also been reports that United are in the running to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez this summer. The Argentina international has been heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park, with rumours even suggesting a switch to the Saudi Pro League may be on the cards.

Villa are reported to value Martinez at around £40million, whose arrival would likely lead to speculation around Andre Onana's future at Old Trafford.

The World Cup-winning goalkeeper was shown a red card against United on the final day of last season, meaning he will serve a three-match ban at the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
