Mateo Joseph may soon end his stint at Elland Road as significant transfer interest has emerged at Leeds United.

Real Betis are interested in the Spaniard, and now another major European team are being linked with the striker, who struggled for regular game time last season.

Daniel Farke trusted Joseph at the start of the previous campaign, but the youngster slowly lost his place in the starting lineup after some underwhelming displays.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the 21-year-old leave the Whites this summer, and they may have to accept that fate at Elland Road soon.

It’s been claimed that no formal bid has been made yet, and how the situation unfolds in the coming weeks remains to be seen.

The centre-forward will undoubtedly want to play more next season after failing to start a league game for the Whites in 2025, and they may have no choice but to sanction a sale if that’s what he wants.

Farke should ask for more strikers at Leeds.

Patrick Bamford’s future at Leeds is uncertain, with newly promoted Wrexham dreaming about signing him.

While the Whites have signed Lukas Nmecha at Elland Road, they will arguably need more options up front if they lose any of their centre-forwards.

Farke should demand improved depth at the West Yorkshire outfit as they look to avoid immediate relegation from the Premier League.

Considering the German manager didn’t trust Joseph to start for Leeds in the Championship, it will evidently take significant effort from the 21-year-old to get regular minutes next season.

Joel Piroe was the first-choice number nine in the previous campaign at the Whites, but he can’t be expected to have a similar outfit in the English top flight.

The Dutchman shouldn’t be expected to shoulder the burden of the West Yorkshire outfit’s attacks in the upcoming campaign, giving them an incentive to reinforce their forward line.

If Farke doesn’t have Joseph in his plans, it would make sense to sell him and use that money to fund the arrival of a reliable goalscorer in LS11.
