LeBron James Could Take On New Media Role

LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is still one of the most impactful stars in the NBA, but we all know that retirement isn’t too far away.

At 40 years old, James is thinking about what happens after he steps away from the league.

According to Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, James could still be on television after he stops playing.

McCarthy is reporting, via Yahoo Sports, that James’ relationship with Amazon could “lead to him eventually joining Prime’s NBA coverage.”

This would be a huge step for James and Amazon and could make NBA fans very happy.

James has never been camera-shy and has even appeared in multiple films.

He has also said that he can picture his post-NBA life revolving around Hollywood, appearing and producing projects.

So the idea of him being a TV personality isn’t surprising.

When it comes to Amazon, this is perhaps the best move they could make.

It would cost them a lot of money, but they would be able to have the biggest name in sports talking about the league he ran for years.

It would also be a blow against NBC, which recently announced it’d have Michael Jordan appearing on its telecasts.

As the NBA television landscape changes, some of the biggest icons in sports are lining up for new jobs, which is going to bring a lot of joy to the fans.

James might be the face of Amazon’s coverage, but it won’t be for some time.

He still has basketball to play and hasn’t said when he plans to retire.

So, while James could be part of NBA coverage, it won’t be for at least another season or two.
