The Indiana Pacers pulled off a tall task on Thursday night, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder to force the first Game 7 in the NBA Finals since 2016.
Tyrese Haliburton was questionable heading into the game, and while many expected him to have a marginal impact, he ended up scoring 14 points, playing 23 minutes.
One might assume that this was the story of the game, but people aren’t talking about his impact as much as Pascal Siakam’s highlight reel dunk.
As Legion Hoops showcased on X, Siakam had an emphatic posterizing dunk over Jalen Williams of the Thunder, a bucket that extended their lead to 20 points.

Siakam only finished the game with 16 points, as he wasn’t needed much in the second half, given their sizable lead, but he was certainly needed to give the Pacers a hot start.
This team showed that they have plenty of life left, despite their losses in the two prior games, and Siakam was a big part of that victory.
We’ll soon see what this team is made of in a Game 7 in Oklahoma City, but there’s no reason to believe that they can’t put up a good fight, at the very least.
This Finals matchup wasn’t a common prediction heading into the year, but these two teams have proven that they are worth their salt, that they deserve to be here.
With the Pacers never winning the Finals in league history, now is their time to show what a small market is capable of, especially with the right players and coaches in place.
